A complete, accurate Business Profile gives Google and potential customers better information about what the business is, where it operates, and how people can engage with it. These steps focus on the foundations Google itself asks businesses to maintain.

01

1. Claim and verify the correct profile.

Confirm that the profile represents the real business and that an authorized owner controls it. Google Business Profiles are intended for eligible businesses that meet customers in person at a location or within a service area. Resolve duplicates before building activity around the wrong listing.

02

2. Make the core business information complete and accurate.

Review the business name, address or service area, phone number, website, hours, and special hours. These details should match the real business and the information customers find elsewhere.

03

3. Choose the most accurate categories.

Select one specific primary category that best describes the business as a whole, then add only the additional categories that genuinely apply. Categories are business classifications, not a place to add keyword variations.

04

4. Explain the business and its services clearly.

Write a concise, factual business description and complete the available service, product, attribute, and appointment fields that help customers understand the offer.

05

5. Use accurate, representative photos and videos.

Add current images that truthfully show the location, team, work, products, or services. Avoid excessive filters, stock imagery presented as the business, or visuals that could mislead a customer.

06

6. Invite genuine reviews and respond to them.

Make it easy for real customers to leave honest feedback and reply in a useful, professional way. Do not buy reviews or offer incentives for positive or misleading feedback.

07

7. Keep customer-facing updates current.

Use available posts, offers, products, services, and Q&A features when they help customers. Remove expired information and update the profile when the business changes.

08

8. Measure, maintain, and compare with the website.

Review profile performance and customer actions, watch for unauthorized edits, and keep the website’s location and contact information consistent. Treat the profile as an operating asset rather than a one-time setup task.
